Designed to support the needs of a growing local community, the development creates a safe, welcoming and high-quality environment in which children can learn and thrive.

As an approved Metsec installer, D&G Contracting was initially appointed to install the Metsec Steel Framing System (SFS) to the building’s new structural steel frame. The system formed an important part of the external envelope, providing a lightweight, accurate and durable framework for the subsequent façade construction.

Our team carefully coordinated the SFS installation with the primary structure, window openings and adjoining building elements. By completing this initial package safely, efficiently and in line with the construction programme, we demonstrated our ability to meet the project’s quality and delivery requirements.

Following the successful progress of the SFS works, D&G Contracting was awarded a broader internal package. This included the installation of plasterboard partitions, suspended ceilings, firestopping and acoustic panelling throughout the school.

The partitioning works helped form the classrooms, offices, circulation areas and supporting facilities across both floors. These systems were selected to provide the durability, fire resistance and acoustic separation required within a busy educational building.

Our suspended ceiling installations were carefully coordinated with lighting, ventilation, fire detection and other building services to create a clean and consistent finish. The associated firestopping works helped maintain the integrity of fire-rated walls, floors and service penetrations throughout the development.
Acoustic panelling was also installed within key areas to help control reverberation and reduce unwanted noise. Effective acoustic treatment is particularly important in schools, where clear communication and comfortable sound levels can support concentration, teaching and learning.
